When it comes to headphones, Beats Electronics is a respectable name, and it has been around for more than a decade. In 2014, Apple bought the Beats Electronics but kept it as a separate brand.

Fast forward to 2020, Apple has its AirPods Pro, which directly competes with PowerBeats Pro by Beats Electronics. So, if you are interested in getting these earphones and you are not sure which one is best for you, then keep reading!

  • Audio Performance
  • Battery Life

Powerbeats Pro vs Airpods: Design & Comfort

Let’s start this comparison with design because it’s one of the major differences between Powerbeats Pro and Apple AirPods Pro.

PowerBeats Pro comes with a very unique and secure design: A discreet hook sits across the ear and provides a very secure fit. Meaning these earphones are designed for peeps with an active lifestyle looking for secure earphones. The overall design of PowerBeats Pro is unique and cool.

On the other hand, AirPods Pro comes with the iconic design of AirPods: the long stem that has a microphone on the tip.

Apple has also incorporated the capacitive force sensor in the stem, which you can squeeze to activate the Noise-cancelling/Transparency mode.

Furthermore, just like PowerBeats Pro, AirPods Pro also comes with a silicone tip that provides the grip to the AirPods and helps them stick in the ear. In terms of comfort, both earphones are also really good.

PowerBeats Pro comes with a variety of silicone tips that you can pick according to your size.

The earphones sit perfectly on the ear and offer a great grip & comfort.

On the other hand, Apple AirPods Pro also offers great comfort, plus 3 different silicone tips which you can pick according to the size of your ear.

Overall, both earphones are really good in comfort, and you can’t go wrong with any of them. However, if we have to pick one, it would be Apple AirPods pro because of its design and comfort.

PowerBeats Pro is also a great option, but its sport centric design limits the options. So, if you want earphones that you can use for both workouts and work, then Apple AirPods is surely a solid option.

If you want earphones for both workouts and work, then Apple AirPods is a solid option.

PowerBeats Pro vs Apple AirPods Pro: Audio Performance

When it comes to Audio Performance, things start to heat up because both earphones share many similarities.

For starters, both earphones come with the same, Apple’s H1 chip. Similarly, both earphones also support mono operation, which means you can use one earphone or two earphones anytime you want.

Also, PowerBeats Pro and Apple AirPods Pro supports the Hey Siri for iPhones as well.

However, the major difference between both earphones is: Noise Cancellation. AirPods Pro comes with the Active Noise Cancellation feature, which works really well. If you use this feature, the AirPods Pro will remove the noises from the background, and you will be able to enjoy the music without any distraction. It also has the option for Transparency mode, so if you want to hear the ambient sound, simply press the tip, and you are good to go.

If we look at the overall audio performance, both earphones are really good.

During our tests, AirPods Pro performed really well. The sound profile was very rich with great bass. The highs, mids, and lows were very good, and we didn’t find anything wrong during our testing.

Similarly, PowerBeats Pro also passed our test with flying colors. The sound profile of PowerBeats Pro is great, but we think that the bass was a bit flat, but it also depends on personal preferences.

The Powerbeats earphones don’t come with any active noise cancellation, but it did block out some of the ambient sounds, thanks to silicone ear tips.

Overall, both earphones are really good, and they offer great sound, but again Apple AirPods comes at the top because of its well-balanced sound profile and Active Noise cancellation feature.

PowerBeats Pro vs Apple AirPods Pro: Battery Life

Battery Life is another very important factor which you should consider when buying earphones.

AirPods Pro and PowerBeats Pro comes with excellent battery life. Apple AirPods Pro comes with a battery life of around 4.5 hours.

On the other hand, PowerBeats Pro offers the battery life of a whopping 9 hours, which is 2x better than AirPods Pro.

Also, both earphones offer 24 hours of additional battery life with the cases as well. Similarly, both earphones also come with quick-charge capability, but the PowerBeats Pro charging system is more efficient.

AirPods Pro can give around 1 hour of listening time with 5 minutes of charge. On the other hand, PowerBeats Pro offers the 1.5 hours of listening time on 5 minutes of charge.

So, it’s clear here that, when it comes to Battery Life, PowerBeats Pro is better than AirPods Pro.

Should I Buy the PowerBeats Pro or Apple AirPods Pro?

PowerBeats Pro and Apple AirPods Pro are two premium earphones, and both of them are really good, but if you want to get the best one, we would recommend AirPods Pro because it offers a much better package than PowerBeats Pro. It comes with the Active Noise Cancellation feature, which works really well.

The Moment of Truth: Powerbeats Pro vs Airpods

DRUM ROLL... in our (very humble) opinion, AirPods Pro is a better option because of better overall performance, and handy features such as transparency mode, smart on-device controls, and water IPX4 water resistance. What do you think? Are you a Powerbeats or Airpods fan? Hit us up below!
